Definition of Terms and Rules

  • Individuals are defined as persons from the public, going to school; a group from a school; or scout group.
  • Company is defined as a group working for one company on a company project.
  • Prices are quoted on a per day basis.
  • + Additional to the Daily Fee
  • The day is from 8am to 5pm.
  • Overnight is from 6pm to 8am.
  • Weekdays are Monday through Friday. We can only launch up to 18,000 feet these days.
  • Weekend days are Saturday, Sunday, and Federal Holidays. We can launch up to 250,000 feet these days.
  • Arrival
    • If you are staying overnight before your first full day, you are expected to arrive around 6pm.
    • Arriving any time before 6pm will be considered an additional full day.
  • Departure
    • If you are staying overnight after your last full day, you are expected to leave around 8am.
    • Departing any time after 8am will be considered an additional full day.
  • Any day at FAR
    • Launches can be interrupted or cancelled by the military with almost no advanced notice.
    • Launches can be interrupted or cancelled by bad-weather, such as, low-clouds, low-visibility, rain, lightning, or high-winds (of 20KPH).
  • Static stands and launchers are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Reservation for any day must be made at least 14 days in advance.
  • There are no back up days, reserve the day you need and be ready to launch on your reserved day.
  • Very small startup companies may get individual pricing.
  • FAR-Days
    • Saturdays
      • 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month.
      • Limited to individuals only.
      • Group size is limited to 25 people.
      • FAR Site is limited to 200 people total.
    • Sundays
      • The Sunday that immediately follows a FAR Saturday.
      • Available only when a FAR Saturday is fully booked.
      • FAR management must announce its availability.
      • Individuals and Companies are allowed.
      • Group size is limited to 20 people.
      • FAR Site is limited to 100 people total.
  • Non-Exclusive, Off-FAR-Days
    • FAR Site is limited to 200 people total.
    • Group size is limited to 100 people.
  • Exclusive, Off-FAR-Days
    • You cannot have an exclusive day when someone else already has a reservation for that day.
    • No one can have a FAR-Day, Saturday or Sunday, as exclusive.
    • No one can have both Off-FAR-Day, Saturday and Sunday as exclusive.
    • No one can have more than two days of a week as exclusive.
    • If you reserve an exclusive day, you pay no matter what.
    • FAR Site is limited to 200 people total.
    • Group size is limited to 200 people.
  • Reservation Fees
    • Will be credited to your reservation balance for that reservation.
    • Will be lost if you cancel or change dates less than 7 days before your reserved day.
    • Can be refunded or credited to another reservation.
      • 100% If you cancel or reschedule at least 14 days in advance.
      • 50% if you cancel or reschedule between 14 days and 7 days in advance.
      • If you are cancelled due to bad weather or by the military.
  • Groups over 50-people Having groups over 50-people at FAR Site requires extra FAR staff to assist in keeping these people safe.
  • High Fire Risk Activity Flying vehicles that contain fuel during their whole flight or flights of vehicles with large Li-Ion battery packs over large areas.
  • WiFi Exclusive Use Requesting to use the FAR WiFi to stream video and data on an exclusive basis because of WiFi bandwidth limitations.
  • Delivery/Pickup to/from FAR Delivery or pickup of heavy equipment, ground support equipment, rockets, launch rails, static firing stands, gases, and propellant to/from FAR Site.
